Compared with smaller plush toys, this pillow offers more versatility, easily functioning as a holiday centerpiece or a gift for those who love seasonal decor. The main tradeoff is that it arrives vacuum-packed and might need some fluffing to regain its full plushness, which can be slightly inconvenient during holiday rushes. Nevertheless, its classic design and cuddly feel make it a top choice for families and decor enthusiasts alike.
Pros:- Soft, cuddly, perfect for hugging and decoration

Ricky Rain Frog Christmas Tree by Jellycat
Ricky Rain Frog dressed as a Christmas tree offers a playful twist on holiday plush. Its embroidered baubles and star-topped hat add festive detail that makes it stand out from more generic plush toys. The size—just over 11 inches—makes it perfect as a holiday gift or collectible piece, especially for children and fans of quirky characters. Compared to the larger plush tree pillow, Ricky Rain Frog is more portable and easier to display on shelves or beds. The main drawback is its limited use as decor, given its smaller size and character focus, which makes it less suitable as a standalone holiday ornament.
Pros:- Adorable, festive design with detailed embroidery
- Soft, plush feel for cuddling and play
- Perfect size for gifting and display
Cons:- Limited to holiday-themed use
- Size may be small for some preferences
Best for: Kids, collectors, or anyone wanting a festive character plush with personality.
Not ideal for: Those seeking a large, decorative piece or a plush primarily for cuddling.

How We Picked
My selection process involved evaluating the overall quality, design appeal, and versatility of each product within the Jellycat Christmas collection. I prioritized items that combine festive charm with functional use, such as decor and cuddly toys. Durability and ease of maintenance were also key factors, especially for holiday-themed items that often get handled by children or used as decorations. Finally, I looked at customer feedback and product specs to ensure each pick offers good value and lasting holiday appeal.
Factors to Consider When Choosing Jellycat Christmas Collection
Choosing the right Jellycat Christmas collection piece depends on how you plan to use it—whether as holiday decor, a gift, or a collectible. Considering size, design, and versatility is key to making a choice that lasts beyond just one season. Here’s what to keep in mind as you browse these festive options.
Purpose and Use
Decide whether you want a plush piece that functions primarily as decor, a cuddly toy, or a collectible. Larger items like the Christmas Tree Plush Toy are more versatile, working well as both decor and a gift. Smaller, character-driven plushes like Ricky Rain Frog excel as gifts or collectibles but are less impactful as decorations.
Size and Space
Measure your space before choosing. The 15.8-inch plush tree pillow is sizable enough to serve as a centerpiece or cozy hug buddy. Conversely, Ricky Rain Frog’s smaller size makes it ideal for shelves, beds, or as a stocking stuffer. Think about where you want to display or gift the item to ensure it fits comfortably.
Design and Style
If you prefer classic holiday decor, the plush tree pillow’s traditional look fits seamlessly with other decorations. For a more whimsical or character-driven collection, Ricky Rain Frog offers a fun, festive twist that appeals to kids and collectors alike. Consider your overall holiday aesthetic when selecting.
Maintenance and Durability
Holiday plush toys and decor can get handled frequently. The plush tree pillow may require fluffing after arrival, but it’s easy to maintain. Ricky Rain Frog’s embroidered details are durable but may be less tolerant of rough handling. Think about who will be handling the item most often and how easy it is to clean.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these Jellycat Christmas items suitable for children?
Yes, both the plush Christmas Tree Pillow and Ricky Rain Frog are designed with soft, plush materials that are safe for children. Ricky Rain Frog, in particular, is a cuddly toy with embroidered details that are durable for play. Always check the age recommendations on the packaging, but generally, these plushes are suitable for a wide age range, including young kids.
Can I use the plush Christmas Tree as a decoration all year round?
While the plush Christmas Tree pillow is primarily holiday-themed, its classic design can be incorporated into winter or festive decor beyond Christmas if you like seasonal styling. However, it is not intended for year-round decor, and storing it out of season can help preserve its appearance and softness.
How should I care for these plush toys?
Both items should be spot cleaned or gently surface washed to maintain their softness and embroidery. Avoid machine washing or drying unless specified, as this can damage the plush fabric or detailed embroidery. Fluff the larger pillow as needed to restore its shape after unpacking.
Are these products durable for frequent handling?
Yes, generally, Jellycat plush toys are made with high-quality materials designed for gentle handling. Ricky Rain Frog’s embroidered details are especially durable, while the plush tree pillow’s fabric is soft but resilient if cared for properly. Keep in mind that plushies are best treated as cuddly companions rather than rough-and-tumble toys.
Which product is better for gifting a collector?
Ricky Rain Frog is the ideal pick for collectors because of its unique character design, detailed embroidery, and festive costume. Its smaller size makes it easy to gift and display, adding a whimsical touch to any holiday collection. The plush tree pillow, while larger and more versatile, might appeal more to those seeking a decor piece or a cuddly friend rather than a collectible.
Conclusion
For shoppers looking for a versatile, large plush that doubles as holiday decor, the Christmas Tree Plush Toy makes an excellent choice. It suits those who want a cozy, festive centerpiece that can also be cuddled. If your priority is giving a charming, character-filled plush as a gift or collectible, then Ricky Rain Frog offers playful appeal and holiday cheer in a smaller package. Consider your space, style preference, and intended use to choose the best fit for your holiday season.
